2026 'Fishers of Men' Keynote Speaker

  • Tim Staples

    Tim Staples

  • Tim Staples was a fallen-away Southern Baptist who as a teen came back to faith in Christ through the witness of televangelists. During his four-year tour with the U.S. Marine Corps, he became friends with a Marine well-versed in his Catholic Faith who challenged Tim to study Catholicism from Catholic and historical sources. That sparked a two-year search for the truth. Immediately after his tour of duty, Tim attended Jimmy Swaggart Bible College and became a youth minister in an Assembly of God community. He was determined to prove Catholicism wrong, but he studied his way to the last place he thought he would ever end up: the Catholic Church. He converted in 1988 and spent six years in formation for the priesthood, earning a degree in philosophy and studying theology at the graduate level. Realizing that his calling was not to be a priest, Tim left the seminary in 1994 and has been working in Catholic apologetics and evangelization ever since.

This is our beautiful annual event where you can participate and show your support for the Mission of The Guadalupe Radio Network in West Texas - the salvation of souls through the powerful means of Radio and Digital Media!

GRN and the Thirteen stations that make up the West TX & New Mexico market, are the fruits of a promise made by a group of lay Catholic Texans forming the La Promesa Foundation in 1996. They promised Jesus and His Mother to protect the sanctity of life, evangelize as called for by our Baptism, help build strong, holy families, and promote holy vocations. They responded to Pope John Paul II’s call to bring “the good news of Jesus Christ to their culture and society” and saw Mother Angelica of Eternal Word Television Network shake her finger into the camera and say, “If you, the laity, will buy a radio station, I will give you the programming free.” The first station went on the air in Midland/Odessa in 2000 and today there are 47 GRN stations reaching an estimated population of over 31,000,000 potential listeners.

Radio forms a community in a geographical area and binds the people of that area together with a unified vision. It is ideal for spreading the Gospel and deserves to be supported. Together we will see The Guadalupe Radio Network in West Texas transforms this region for the Glory of God. By sponsoring a table, you can be a part of the mission of Catholic Radio that is changing lives. Your sponsorship will be acknowledged both at the dinner and over the airwaves. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, together we take part in strengthening fellow Catholics, attracting, and even helping to convert listeners to the faith, and building up the greater Catholic community across West Texas & New Mexico.

The GRN has been broadcasting in West Texas since 2000.
